The Carrollton City School System is in the process of developing a commitment statement to support our Vision, Mission and Guiding Principles and is seeking input from the community at large during this process. Before taking the survey requesting your input, you may want to learn more about what a commitment statement is and how it supports our overall goals and values. Below is a definition:

Commitment can be defined as loyalty, duty, or a pledge to something or someone.  In terms of the Carrollton City School System’s intentions to develop a commitment statement, the purpose of such a statement would serve multiple purposes.
 
The commitment statement selected should be a short, memorable statement that

• Captures the purpose of the school system
• Articulates what the school system aspires to be
• Is broad enough to allow for creative growth
• Distinguishes the system from others
• Serves as framework to develop and assess progress
• Is stated clearly so that it is understood by all
